About Cafe & Crema
Cafe & Crema is an independent publication about home coffee equipment. The goal is practical: help a reader understand what a product actually does, how it fits a brewing workflow, what evidence supports the recommendation, and what remains uncertain before money changes hands.
What we cover
26 ranked roundups across 9 equipment categories — espresso machines, grinders, kettles, brewers, scales, frothers, drinkware, accessories, and cleaning and water gear — covering 124 individual product entries. Alongside them, 179 technique, comparison, review and troubleshooting guides, plus hub pages for the 8 brewing methods represented on the site: Espresso, Pour-Over, Drip, French Press, AeroPress, Cold Brew, Moka Pot, Pods.
The scope is deliberately domestic. Cafe & Crema writes for people spending their own money on equipment that lives in a home kitchen, not for commercial cafés specifying production equipment.
Who writes it
Cafe & Crema is a small independent operation, not a media group and not a brand's content arm. Articles publish under the site's editorial identity rather than invented staff personas.
The site does not imply first-party testing that did not happen. Current assessments rely on manufacturer and service documentation, attributed independent testing, repairability information, and owner reports as qualitative issue signals. Owner discussions can identify symptoms and workflow concerns; they are not used as population failure-rate data.
The full methodology explains the evidence hierarchy, first-party-testing boundary, product-generation checks, Amazon identity rules, score format, corrections process and affiliate independence.
What commercial pages are expected to show
Reviews and comparisons should make the buying decision clear before burying it in specifications. They should explain workflow, maintenance, serviceability, important alternatives and value, and they should expose a visible Sources & Evidence section so readers can see what supports the assessment.
Manufacturer claims, independent measurements, owner reports and Cafe & Crema analysis are different evidence types. When reliable sources disagree, the site should explain the uncertainty or remove the disputed exact claim rather than manufacture precision.
Where we draw the line
No brand pays for placement and no brand approves an article before publication. The site earns affiliate commission when an eligible purchase is made through an affiliate link; the full terms are on the disclosure page. Commission rate is not a ranking criterion.
We do not fabricate price, discount, urgency, stock, rating, warranty or measurement data. If an exact Amazon product identity cannot be verified, the editorial recommendation can remain without an Amazon button rather than guessing the ASIN.
Link monitoring is not stock monitoring
Affiliate destinations are monitored so dead or broken destinations can be reviewed and corrected. A working affiliate destination does not mean Cafe & Crema has verified current retailer stock, price or delivery timing. Those can change independently of the article and should be checked at the retailer.
Corrections
Specifications change, products are discontinued and better evidence appears. When the search intent is unchanged, Cafe & Crema prefers updating the existing page rather than creating a duplicate URL.
If you find a wrong specification, stale model generation, broken recommendation or unsupported claim, tell us. A material correction should update the claim, the supporting evidence and the page's visible update date.
